The House at Green Gables is beautiful inside with a very nice kitchen and dining area to gather. The landscaping is extraordinary and offers a couple of lovely places to gather outside as well. Colin was most hospitable and has put a lot into this wonderful place in Ephraim. Cannot wait to return!

Colin is a beautiful artist with an amazing talent for interior decorating and has an incredible flair/passion for landscape design and gardening. Green Gables is just at the beginning of an adventurous journey, and we look forward to seeing how it progresses over time!!! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay and felt very welcomed by Colin. He was very responsive and kind to our texts. Beautiful spot – central to get to best places in Door County
The rental was gorgeous and very well appointed. We had plans to drive to the various wineries and see the fireworks for 4th of July. Held us all very comfortably.

Exceeds Expectations!
The House at Green Gables was a lucky find! I was looking for a cozy Door County vacation rental that had a king size bed, a fireplace, ambiance, and plenty of room to spread out… when we found this property, we decided to invite another couple with whom to share this Door County winter experience. The Plum was perfect for the 4 of us! It was clean, well-stocked with all the needed amenities, warm, spacious, cozy beds with luxury linens, soft towels, not to mention, mason jars with fresh flowers … in the middle of winter… a perfect added touch! We are definitely planning a repeat visit!

Lovely Gardens and Peaceful Environment
We had a wonderful week at the Birch Retreat! Colin greeted us upon our arrival and we immediately felt welcome. The location couldn’t be better. Beautiful and quiet house in great location
This is a very well cared for property that was a delight to stay in. The owner was very helpful and friendly, even leaving fresh flowers from the gardens in a vase for us to enjoy upon arrival. There were beautiful views of the fall foliage from all windows and the fireplace was great to relax by. It was so convenient to travel up or down the peninsula from this location and even walk to local shops or restaurants. The house lived up to the beautiful pictures on the site and then some. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a cozy home away from home to stay in. Also enjoyed sitting outside on the patio looking out over the lovely gardens.

Great stay for a 70th birthday weekend!
We had the best time at Green Gables. The check in was easy and the home was so great!! The open concept is great for hanging out, the kitchen is fully stocked and our favorite part was the fireplace that you turned on with a switch. Everything about it was cozy and comfortable!! We would most definitely stay again. Colin was helpful and he was working on the property while we were there which was nice to find out more about what the future holds for Green Gables. We will return!

Spectacular Gem
We visit Door County often and have stayed in a variety of accommodations, from camping at Peninsula State Park to hotels to a large coach-house in Fish Creek. The House at Green Gables is far and above my favorite place! It’s far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Ephraim and Sister Bay, but close enough to still enjoy all the restaurants and shops the towns have to offer. We did a getaway with my son and daughter-in-law, celebrating our birthdays. The house is just perfect for this kind of getaway. The main living space has an open floor layout, with plenty of windows and light flowing throughout. It’s elegantly appointed throughout.

A Door County Darling
The pictures & reviews sealed my decision to book this listing for a birthday/sister 3- night getaway. It did not disappoint…was a very quaint, spacious and clean cottage home. The beds are extremely comfortable, outfitted with luxurious bedding for a great nights’ sleep. The lg. kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. The L.R. had ample furniture to stretch out for group conversation while enjoying the warmth from the F.P on chilly evenings. The outdoor patio was also a plus to sip coffee while enjoying the early morning sunshine and fresh air. The location couldn’t have been better, centrally located for quick access to towns both north and south as it’s just right off of Hwy. 42, yet quiet and peaceful. Very apparent Colin has given this home much love and care, as well as his thoughtfulness in providing extra touches for guests use ensuring a carefree warm welcome stay. Colin’s communication was timely and detailed for a smooth easy check-in and instructions for our visit. Thank you, Colin, it was a pleasure.

Excellent all around
We’ve come to Door County for 5/7 years and stayed in a a different place each time. We’ve been happy with every place we’ve rented, but this was by far our favorite. It’s clean, tidy, in a great location, the owner is responsive, and the fireplace is fantastic.

We so enjoyed our time
The Birch cottage was a lovely spot for a weekend getaway. Both beds were extremely comfortable, and the living room was a great place to sit and chat at the end of the day. The location in Ephraim makes it an easy trip up or down the Door. We got everywhere easily in just minutes. Colin was a great host, too. Everything was ready for us, and he even left a large vase of fresh flowers in the space! The outside garden is beautiful, too. Everything was in bloom. I would definitely stay here again.
